Surgical antisepsis: antisepsis of the skin before an operation.

what is Hibitane medication used for and indication?

  • Superficial and not very extensive wounds or burns.
  • Adjunctive treatment of primarily bacterial skin conditions or likely to become superinfected.
  • Surgical antisepsis: antisepsis of the skin of the operating field.
  • Antisepsis for severe burns.
  • Antisepsis of bullous dermatoses.

Note : Antiseptic agents are not sterilizing: they temporarily reduce the number of microorganisms.

Hibitane Dosage

  • DO NOT INJECT. DO NOT SWALLOW. SKIN USE EXCLUSIVELY.
  • Mixing of the two solutions should be done immediately before use,
  • and should not be diluted.
  • The ready-to-use solution is used for painting the operating field.

Concentration in active principle: Use / Method of preparation .

  • 0.05% (1/2000) aqueous solution: Wounds, skin conditions, burns / Hibitane 5% 10 ml. Sterile water qs 1000 ml.
  • 0.5% alcoholic solution (1/200): Surgical drape / Hibitane 5%. 100 ml 70 ° alcohol qs 1000 ml.

Contraindications for Hibitane field 0.5%

Never use HIBITANE CHAMP 0.5 PERCENT, solution for local application in the following cases:

  • in cases of known allergy to chlorhexidine,
  • for the disinfection of medico-surgical equipment.
  • Do not apply in the eyes or in the ears in case of perforation of the eardrum.
  • Do not apply to mucous membranes.

how does Hibitane work?

ANTISEPTICS AND DISINFECTANTS.

  • Solution of chlorhexidine (derivative of biguanides) in a foaming cationic surfactant excipient.
  • Bactericidal antiseptic on Gram + germs and, to a lesser degree, Gram-
  • Antifungal action on Candida albicans.
  • This product combines a detergent and bactericidal effect.
  • This preparation is intended to be diluted in water or in alcohol at 70 ° (see dosage and method of administration). The antiseptic activity is higher in alcoholic solution; it eliminates most of the “resident” flora.

How To Store Hibitane ?

Keep this medication out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the vial after EXP. The expiration date refers to the last day of that month.
